Future Flower
London architects Tonkin Liu have made and installed a 45 foot high wind powered metal flower that sits near the River Mersey in England. Small wind turbines power 60 LED lights that illuminate the flower at night. An ecological art statement, the flower is part of a regeneration program to clean up the vacant polluted waterfront, and transform 200 acres of industrial riverfront into an environmentally friendly business park.
