Elysia Crispata

This beautiful sea slug is the only natural example of shared genes between plant and animal life. The slug converts chloroplasts inside its tissues, and then lives making chlorophyll just like a plant. When it is born, it has its first meal of chloroplast algae, and then it doesn't have to eat again for the rest of its life. All it needs to do to survive is sunbathe.
