In 1996, something took place in Varginha, Brazil. Someone reported seeing an alien-like figure walking through the streets, and from that point on, there were many sightings of UFOs and aliens. A "creature" was found in a roadside ditch, and the military supposedly grabbed it and took it away. A media frenzy ensued, and since then, Varginha has become the equivalent of Roswell, New Mexico. The city's water tower, built in 2001, is meant to represent the alien crafts that visited the city, and it glows bright purple at night.
