Aeolus

Artist Luke Jerram from England has created a fascinating acoustic wind sculpture called Aeolus, named after the Greek ruler of the four winds. This Aeolian Harp has a very mysterious sound which is totally unpredictable because the noise varies so much when the winds change. The sound it emits is said to sound like alien landing craft. Wind harps make their music through a phenomenon known as the Von Karman Vortex Street Effect, in which wind blowing across a string or other thin rigid object creates an alternating sound vibration.
