Tezutsu Hanabi

The Tezutsu Hanabi is a fireworks celebration held annually all around Japan. The festival has been carried out for the last 300 years attracting people from all of Japan and the rest of the world. Dozens of men hold and ignite 3 foot hollowed out bamboo torches which are filled with black gun powder. The flames shoot over 65 feet high in the air, and then the torch explodes. Spectacular...yes. Dangerous...very!
