Miniature Ecosystem

Photographer David Liittschwager took a green metal frame, a 12 inch open cube, to different environments on land and in the water. At each locale, he set down the cube, and with the help of his assistant and many biologists, he photographed every creature, down to a millimeter in size, that resided within the cubic foot of space. It took three weeks to photograph the above inhabitants in a coral reef off Moorea, French Polynesia.
