East Asian Red Crowned Crane
This endangered bird is named for a small patch of skin on its head that is red and becomes brighter when excited or angry. Otherwise the bird is all black and white. Only 1700 Red Crowned Cranes are left in the wild, and are now legally protected in Russia, China and Japan.
