Found along the Pacific Coast, but primarily thriving in the Sea of Cortez, these alien-like squid can easily grow up to and over 100 pounds. Called the "Red Devil" because of their hostile and aggressive nature, they can actually attack and kill a scuba diver if confronted. Their strong tentacles grab and hold the prey as it quickly swims downward at 30 miles per hour. It has a beak that it uses to rip and consume the prey, which is sharper than a filet knife. Luckily for swimmers and surfers, they stay at too far a depth to be of much danger.
