Stromboli Island
Located just north of Sicily, this 10 square mile island is an active volcano that has been continuously erupting for the last 2,000 years. At 900 feet tall, Stromboli is one of the world's only constantly active volcanoes, erupting dozens of times each day, with small explosions that send bursts of magma into the sky and rivulets of molten lava into the sea.
