Lake Tekapo

Lake Tekapo is an Alpine lake at the foot of Mt. John on the South Island of New Zealand. What's different about this lake from other lakes is the amazing color of it. The surrounding glaciers grind rock into a fine dust on their way to the lake. This rock flour is suspended in the water which causes the incredible turquoise color.
