Flooding in Pakistan

An unexpected side effect of the 2011 Pakistan floods has been that millions of spiders have climbed into the trees to escape the flood waters. Because it has taken so long for the waters to recede, the trees have become cocooned in their webs. The good thing is that from the standing stagnant waters, the mosquitoes are getting caught in the webs, reducing the risk of malaria.
