Jiuzhaigou Valley

In a remote area of the highlands in Eastern China sits Jiuzhaigou Valley. Next to the border of the Tibetan Himalayas, this lush beautiful valley had little population during the 1970s and 1980s, but is now struggling with handling 7,000 tourists a day. The nine village valley is an eden of turquoise lakes, cascading waterfalls and forested mountain slopes. Jiuzhaigou's waters are very clear from the presence of calcium carbonate, and that allows you to see the amazing floating and underwater forests.
