The Fennec Fox
The Fennec Fox's huge ears are used to dissipate heat. This small nocturnal fox is found in the upper Sahara desert where intense heat can be a trial for animals. Weighing only 2 to 3 pounds, and measuring 9 to 16 inches long, the Fennec Fox is the world's smallest fox species, and are sometimes kept as pets.
