Monkey Orchid

This incredible orchid grows in cloud forests in Southeast Ecuador and Peru on mountainsides. It is known as the Monkey Orchid, but its actual name is Dracula Simia. The "Simia" referring to the monkey face, and the "Dracula" referring to the two long spurs which resemble vampire fangs. It was first discovered in 1978. When it blooms, it emits a strong smell of ripe orange.
