Swimming in Venice
Every late October into November, Venice, Italy usually floods, leaving Venetians and tourists having to walk around the city on elevated wooden plank walkways. St. Mark's Square always floods, even into the front doors of the museums and churches. This level pictured in 2012 is at 58 inches, short of the 63 inch flooding which occurred in 2008. These two tourists opted for a swim across St. Mark's Square.
