Airbus Group, which is the world's largest maker of commercial helicopters, is developing flying cars to be used for public transportation, similar to a taxi service. Airbus CEO Tom Enders stated "With flying, you don't need to pour billions into concrete bridges and roads". The aim would be for people to book the vehicle using an app, just like other car-sharing schemes. They hope to actually have the vehicle operational by the end of 2017.
