Bannerman's Castle

Bannerman's Castle was built in a traditional European style by businessman Francis Bannerman in 1901. After the Spanish-American War, Bannerman bought 90% of the U.S. Army's surplus including huge quantities of ammunition. His storeroom in New York City could not hold it all, so he built this castle as an armory on the Hudson River about 50 miles north of New York.
