Lava Lake at Nyiragongo
In Africa, Mount Nyiragongo is a very busy volcano with a deadly lava lake, which has erupted at least 33 times since 1882. Located inside Virunga National Park, the lake has a super high fluidity level compared to other lava flows due to a unique presence of alkali-rich volcanic rock and melilite nephelimite. The last deadly eruption was in 2002, which took 147 lives.
