Dissapearing Lighthouse
The Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse on Denmark's weathered coast sits above sea level on the edge of the North Sea. First put in operation in 1900, nobody counted on the shifting sands to render the lighthouse totally useless. In 1968, the lighthouse was shut down for good. No longer guiding ships, it has remained a major tourist attraction.
