Looking more like primordial green ooze, the Yareta plant could be mistaken for something alien. This flowering plant grows in the high altitudes of Peru, Chile, and Bolivia, with not much else around it. It is estimated that they grow about one and a half centimeters a year, which makes some of the Yaretas over 3,000 years old.
