Chichen Itza was the capitol of the Mayan civilization in Mexico. At Chichen Itza is the pyramid or temple built for worshipping the god Quetzacoatl. The entire pyramid is actually believed to be a calendar...its four sides have a total of 365 steps, and the corners cast a shadow of a serpent during the Spring and Autumnal Equinox. The Mayans were one of history's most mathematically advanced cultures, so scientists believe that the pyramid could indeed be the largest calendar ever made.
