Centennial Rocket

Artist Lew Parry created this 12 foot long stylized rocket ship in 1936 for the Sheet Metal Workers float in the Pacific National Exhibition Parade in Vancouver, Canada. After the parade, it was displayed at the Vancouver Air Terminal until 1972 when it was scrapped due to rust. The artist, who had the original plans was located, and another was remade for Vancouver's 100th birthday. It now resides at the foot of the Cambie Street Bridge.
