African Wild Dogs
Genetically, every domesticated dog comes from a wolf, as does the African Wild Dog. Next to the Grey Wolf, the African Wild Dog is the largest canid in existence. Also known as the Painted Wolf, they travel and also hunt in packs. Their bite force quotient is the highest of any predator in the order Carnivora, which includes lions, tigers and bears. In fact, their predator kill rate is 80 percent, far superior to that of lions.
