Fantasy Island
The island of Aogashima is actually a volcanic crater inside another volcanic crater. It is part of the Izu Archipelago which lies two hundred miles south of Tokyo in the Philippine Sea. It is officially part of Japan and governed from Tokyo. Slightly over 200 people actually live on the island which has not erupted since 1783. Having one school, and one post office, people often vacation to scuba dive in the crystal blue waters that surround the island. It can be reached by ferry or helicopter.
