What is a Pangolin?
It is believed that Pangolins have lived on earth for over 40 million years. The Pangolin is the only mammal that has scaly skin. The scales are made up of Keratin, and are razor sharp for protection. They have no teeth, but have an extremely long tongue similar to Anteaters, used to extract termites and ants from their nest mounds. When threatened they simply roll into a ball, and nobody can penetrate their armor. Usually nocturnal, but seen during daylight as well, they are found in tropical areas of Africa and Asia. The Chinese hunt them and believe that eating their meat reduces obesity.
