As a child, Leila Jeffreys was taught to always rescue and nurse birds in need back to health, an experience that resulted in an intimate relationship with wildlife. It is immediately apparent when you view her spectacular bird portraits. She captures the essence and personality of every bird, portraying many of them with surprising human characteristics.
